Core Responsibilities

  • Leading formulation, technical design and implementation of strategic objectives.
  • Providing technical leadership across product domains to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions
  • Formulating technical roadmaps and system architecture in collaboration with product teams
  • Championing architecture principles and helping product teams secure consistent solution design and reuse of components and services. Apart from ensuring technical excellence, you work with the organization and support implementing the proposed solutions.
  • Orchestrating the management of technology scope and risks.
  • Building prototypes and creating compelling concepts by being at the front of proof of concepts and innovations.

You will be part of the Infrastructure team in our Digital Technology organization.

The role of the Infrastructure team is providing secure, scalable and modern cloud and Infrastructure services and IT platforms to the digital workforce in the LEGO Group.

The technology landscape is abstract. We work with variety of technologies and cover a broad field of Infrastructure and platform capabilities and services within e.g. Network, Cloud (AWS/Azure), Edge, Container orchestration, API’s, Event broker, SAP, IAM, AI and a broad suite of tools for developers and other colleagues.

As a technical leader and Principal Engineer, you will be part of shaping the overarching digital system architecture. You will be working with peers and colleagues in other domains to define and implement a robust and flexible digital architecture for the LEGO Group.

Do you have what it takes?
We envision you have a Software Engineering or Computer Scientist background but if you are self-taught and have a lot of cool experience, then show us what you can accomplish with your superpowers.

  • Your experience is built from 8-10 years of working in a technical role, e.g., as a staff engineer or an IT solution architect. Min 3 years within similar field of responsibilities including technical leadership.
  • Your achievements are based on theoretical and practical knowledge of SW engineering and IT architecture and hands-on experience within relevant competency area. You are passionate about learning and staying on top of new technology insights.
  • You have a strategic approach and know how to stay on strategy. You are skilled in organisational change and impact, open to innovative approaches, patient with people and you have superb interpersonal skills.
  • You are an excellent problem solver who is not fixed on technology but looks at how to craft the best possible solution together with colleagues. You love a technical challenge and filling in the dots to ensure that all requirements are understood and fulfilled.
  • Communication and collaboration are part of your natural superpowers. People look up to you and seek to become as skilled as you are and when you speak, people listen and trust your expert opinion. You love and excel in teaching your skills and approach to others.

Please Note: Location can be based in either Copenhagen or Billund, Denmark but no relocation assistance is offered for this position.
