Solution Architect with Leadership Skills
Ørsted
Join us in this role where you’ll be working in the SMARTplant Agile Release Train (ART), which primary focus is to develop and operate a portfolio of products that are critical for the operation of our power plants. In an agile setup within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) you’ll drive strategically important initiatives and act as a technical leader towards the teams. You’ll be anchored in IT but work in Bioenergy. Your primary location will be either in Gentofte or in Fredericia but do expect to travel to our power plants located throughout Denmark on a regular basis.
Welcome to Architecture & Technology
You’ll be part of Architecture & Technology where you, together with your colleagues, will work to ensure cohesion and growth of a successful architecture community across Ørsted business and Ørsted’s IT landscape. Architecture & Technology is a community that consists of 150+ architects who work with the business in different parts of the agile delivery organization. In your daily work you’ll play an active role in the agile leadership team in SMARTplant ART, help define the guardrails for SMARTplant and help the ART move towards the vision of building the bioenergy hub of the future.
As a team, we are involved in building a sustainable green energy company with a diverse culture around the globe. The ART consists of 5 globally distributed teams, 3 application architects, and around 45 employees in total.
You’ll play an important role in:
- ensuring continuous development of the architectural runway and the ART-wide target architecture, while also planning and pushing our cloud focus to maintain stable operations
- mentoring and acting as a sparring partner across our five teams and leading a group of architects to design and develop a large application portfolio
- being the decision-maker and taking the lead on activities, analyzing, designing, and implementing secure and scalable solutions, aligning business requirements with IT capabilities
- managing the overall architecture discipline in SMARTplant, ensuring that an updated strategic outlook and relevant artifacts are communicated effectively
- advising and overseeing the implementation of architecture designs that are secure, reliable, maintainable, scalable, usable, and perform well
- working closely with the others in the ART leadership group as well as product owners, business stakeholders, architecture CoEs, and architects to clarify any challenges and obstacles.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have experience in data migration strategies, tools, and best practices to ensure a smooth transition from our existing database used for planning in time series to the new planning system
- have experience within operational technology (OT) or similar, knowledge of technological trends and experience in strategic planning and technical leadership across multiple teams
- think strategically, have strong problem-solving skills, and are a natural leader
- are a hands-on leader who’ll also get involved in the day-to-day tasks
- can identify, compare, select, and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs
- are experienced in working with architectural artefacts, disciplines, and roadmaps.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
