The Global Sourcing department in Arendal is a part of VIKING’s Life-Saving Equipment's Global Sourcing team, supporting all VIKING’s production sites. The global sourcing team is responsible for managing the Global Supplier base, ensuring stable and sound product supply. The position reports to Global Sourcing Manager in Arendal.

Task and Responsibilities
In this role, you will work both independently and in cooperation with others. The following tasks and projects can be expected:

  • Independent sourcing responsibility for selected spend categories and suppliers both local and global (negotiations, contract management, follow up suppliers)
  • Sourcing of new suppliers and products, according to VIKING’s requirements to both quality, Code of Conduct and Terms and Conditions
  • Cost Saving initiatives and reporting both locally and globally
  • Day to day work e.g. updating master data
  • Prices, lead times and Terms and Conditions, product information from suppliers and coordinate this internally
  • Participate in Global projects and follow up sourcing tasks in the projects
  • NCR processing
  • Reports and analysis of spend data

Your profile
If you have previous relevant experience, that will be considered as an advantage.

The successful candidate:

  • Has higher relevant education at bachelor or master level. Relevant work experience can replace formal education requirements
  • Having relevant experience within the discipline is an advantage
  • Having experience and genuin interest in ERP-system/SAP is an advantage
  • Is an experienced user of excel
  • Is structured and eager to learn more and to develop competences
  • You have experience working in a global environment
  • Open-minded and with the drive to make a difference
  • Is a team Player

You will work closely with other departments and colleagues, therefore you need to be good communicator and has collaboration skills. On a personal level you are analytical thinker, positive and precise.

Since our corporate language is English, you have very good English skills – both written and orally.
