As CMF Designer in the System and Material Innovation Team you will work at the intersection of Color Material Innovation and Product Design!

Core Responsibilities

You will explore and develop new Color and Material opportunities for Innovation across the portfolio, as well as to provoke innovative Material and Platform Innovation

  • Innovation and Strategy: Execute innovative CMF strategies, support identify emerging trends in color, material and finish design to ensure our products remain at the forefront of design excellence. Able to develop criteria and point of view on innovation opportunity areas and prioritization to bring a vision alive.
  • Research and Insights: Conduct research and insights, product design trends and new material technologies and translate them and develop new concepts, product ideas, and CMF strategies.
  • Material Technology Development: Collaborate with external vendors/suppliers, material scientists and engineers and explore and investigate in new Material technologies and developments
  • Concept Presentation and Visualization: Create visualization, graphics, material samples and hand-crafted prototypes that will demonstrate CMF design concepts. Visualize CMF choices applying 2D and 3D software
  • Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineers, Material Development, Designers and Specialists to bring concepts to life.
  • Mentorship: Provide Guidance and mentorship to junior Designers, encouraging a collaborative and creative work environment. Share knowledge and expertise in CMF design to elevate the team’s capabilities. Ability to encourage and engage multidisciplinary teams in front end innovation

As part of the System and Material Innovation Team, you will interact broadly with partners across various levels, including all Design Teams, the Design Leadership Team, Operations, and Material Development Specialists.

You should be a proactive and collaborative person and hybrid thinker, able to think flexibly and strategically within your own design subject area as well as across other design fields who adopt innovation to uncover new insights and possibilities.

Do you have what it takes?

  • 5+ years CMF design experience, defining trends, color material and finishes for mass manufacture and crafting Design strategies
  • Good knowledge of hard and soft materials (Plastics, Textile, Effects, Ink etc.)
  • experience with creative and innovative development processes
  • Strong visualization skills, 2D/3D and able to communicate a strategy and Design direction to peers
  • Work collaboratively with partners across different departments and use agile ways of working
  • Phenomenal visual, verbal, and written communication skills, ability to communicate innovative ideas with internal and external partners across all levels
  • Outstanding portfolio that proves solid Design skills and forward thinking
  • Trend Awareness and Deep understanding of current and future trends in design, materials, and technologies
