UX/UI Designer (Maternity Cover)
WhiteAway Group
You don’t have to love washing machines to love how we work. Think autonomous squad and hypothesis driven development, to build a category leading eCommerce experience. Are you ready for a career in a fast-paced organisation, developing your own skills as much as the digital products you design for? Yes? Have a look!
Whiteaway Group all started from a start-up that began with a simple idea, a commitment to our customers, and with a passion for digital innovation. Today, we’re a successful retailer, selling and delivering household appliances across Scandinavia. We’re change-makers at heart – it’s the very core of everything we do.
As our maternity cover for UX/UI Design, you will join the tech department with over 30 dedicated and passionate colleagues. You will join the UX team and one of our autonomous product squads in a matrix organisation setup. Within this structure you will constantly work with other UX designers as well as product owners, data scientists, and software engineers to solve problems and fulfill your squad’s mission.
This position is full-time and aims to begin on November 1st and last for 9-10 months.
The job is all about:
- Applying a wide variety of interaction models and patterns, then tying design decisions back to user needs and expectations.
- Working with the design team to raise the overall quality of project work and establishing best practices around using our design direction.
- Scaling design to be highly reusable within a design system and applied to many touchpoints.
- Planning and executing research, transforming observations and output into insights and recommendations.
- Highly influencing decisions, through a variety of UX Research and Product Discovery activities.
We imagine that you:
- Have 2 - 5 years’ experience delivering feature designs to a cross-functional team; with a user-centric approach.
- Utilise and contribute to design systems to optimise the process in your current work.
- Inspire optimism in the face of setbacks, contributing to a positive team culture that embraces continuous learning and improvement.
- Exhibit a bias towards action, driving projects forward and overcoming obstacles with a focus on tangible outcomes.
- Create an approach based on project briefs and readily adapts that approach based on changing project needs.
- Works well with autonomy within a given strategy and can make decisions that harmonise with your colleagues’ work.
- Write and speak English fluently, with some level of competency in Danish as well.
We like to think that we offer quite an amazing workplace, including:
- A dynamic and international environment with room for you to be you.
- Opportunities to develop professionally and to influence your own work life.
- A flat, informal organisation with short decision-making processes.
- Colleagues who care about what they do and how we influence each other.
- Attractive settings, such as: flexible work hours, the opportunity to have days working from home, health care, lunch scheme, Friday breakfast, gym, and plenty of social events.
