JOB DESCRIPTION
We are conducting a search for Tjekvik, which is seeking an accomplished Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead their development department and drive their technological vision forward. In this key leadership role, you will not only define the company’s technological roadmap but also inspire and guide a team of skilled engineers. As the new CTO, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Tjekvik's technology and products. You will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of their technological roadmap, ensuring that their innovative self-service solutions continue to meet the evolving needs of the automotive industry. You will lead a team of talented developers, DevOps engineers, and technical leads, all of whom work remotely across Europe. A significant part of your role will involve managing and driving performance from a distance, ensuring your team excels regardless of their location. Additionally, you will be an integral member of the leadership team, working closely with the CEO and Head of Product as a trusted advisor. The CTO position is pivotal, as the company’s product involves both software (SaaS) and integrated hardware, making technology the core of the business and placing you at the heart of it all. A key responsibility will be to develop and oversee the creation of an open API, ensuring seamless integration with car dealer systems and other third-party vendors, including payment solutions.

Your primary tasks and areas of responsibility:

  • Define and execute the technological vision, ensuring it drives innovation and supports Tjekvik's business objectives within the automotive sector.
  • Lead and manage a geographically dispersed engineering team, fostering strong collaboration and maximizing team performance across different locations.
  • Lead the creation and rollout of advanced SaaS and hardware solutions, ensuring they are in line with market demands and industry trends.
  • Work closely with the CEO, Head of Product and the rest of leadership team, offering strategic technical insights and playing a key role in shaping the company’s direction.
  • Optimize and manage technology operations, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency to support the company's growth trajectory.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate is expected to have a computer science or engineering education at BA or MA level, but experience from a similar role is more important. Furthermore, the candidate is expected to have:

  • Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably within a technology-driven company.
  • Hands-on experience in software development and managing integrated hardware products.
  • Experience in developing and executing technology strategies that align with business goals and drive innovation within a fast-growing company.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of working closely with executive teams and providing strategic technical guidance.
  • Preferably experienced with achieving externally audited compliance standards as ISAE 3000/3402, ISO 27001 or similar.
