About the role
We are looking for a team lead for our urban drainage team in Denmark. You will be responsible for representing DHI in the Danish urban drainage sector and leading our team of three highly specialised engineers with many years of experience in hydraulic modelling, real time control systems, and digital solutions. We are looking to grow and position our department in the Danish sector to ensure that the best specialists want to be a part of DHI, driving the agenda on hydraulic modelling and digital urban water management.

You will be a part of a friendly and specialised team of three senior engineers striving to provide our clients with outstanding technical advice and customer service. The successful candidate will be looking to shape their own team, and drive a generational transition, while maintaining the highest level of expertise in hydraulic modelling and digital urban water management as possible.

The main responsibilities and challenges in the job are:

• Represent DHI with hydraulic expertise in the Danish urban drainage sector
• Engage with clients, lead proposals, and win projects
• Coordinate and lead urban drainage team in Denmark
• Manage projects and deliverables
• Define innovation projects with utilities and other partners
• Coordinate market efforts on water distribution
• Organise theme days around MIKE+ for customers
• Grow the team and expertise in Denmark within urban drainage and water supply

Qualifications and personal skills
We are seeking a candidate with technical understanding of hydraulic modelling, in-depth knowledge of the Danish market for urban drainage system modelling, and experience with digital solutions. This role involves travel and client engagement, so the ideal candidate should be passionate about networking and building relationships.

To be successful we expect that you have the following skills and traits:

Required:

• An M.Sc/ M.Eng/ PhD is required
• Minimum of 5-10+ years professional experience with urban drainage doing hydraulic modelling and managing projects.
• Excellent people and communication skills
• Good understanding of hydraulic modelling
• Proven record to lead and win projects
• Technical competence in urban drainage
• Fluent in Danish

Desirable:

• A strong network in the Danish utility sector
• Experience with people management and leadership

• Structured and good at keeping the bigger picture, keeping projects on track
• Enjoys engaging with clients and thinking up new solutions
• Determined to solve the difficult challenges and shaping the ways we solve the problems of tomorrow

Office location

• You will be located in our office in Hørsholm or Aarhus, depending on your location, however regular presence in Hørsholm is expected.
• Travelling of 20-50 days per year is expected
