As a Senior Backend Developer, you’ll play a key role in advancing both Hello Retail and our customers by driving smarter personalization and enhancing customer insights, all while maintaining a strong focus on user privacy. Objectives of this role

• Drive the development of cutting-edge personalization solutions capable of handling high traffic, all while prioritizing and respecting user privacy.
• Integreate of our proprietary AI, Product Intelligence, into our existing product suite, shaping the future of our platform.
• Ensure consistent, reliable releases that provide tangible value to webshops across Europe, enhancing their customer experience and performance.
• Take full ownership of features from ideation to deployment, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact, innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate
Skills and Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in developing web applications using Java or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, with the ability to discuss and implement design patterns.
• Proven experience building highly scalable distributed systems.
• Self-motivated, positive, and passionate about software development.
• Proficient in code reviews and unit testing.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud technologies.
• High proficiency in:
  • Java
  • JavaScript
  • MySQL & MongoDB
  • HTML/CSS/SASS
  • Git
• Strong initiative—be ready to share ideas on how we can improve.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with:

• SOLR or Elastic Search
• Vue or similar frontend frameworks
• Big Data tooling and databases
