We are looking for a medical doctor with clinical experiences and with experience in surveillance of antimicrobial resistance to assist the second EU Joint action on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infections (JAMRAI 2).

About the Department of Bacteria, Parasites & Fungi
Statens Serum Institut is the national reference and surveillance institution for bacterial and viral infections as well as a central reference institution for both fungal and parasitic infections.

The Section for Antimicrobial Resistance is responsible for surveillance and research of clinical important resistant bacteria, MRSA, ESBL-producing Gram- negative rods, CPO and VRE. The annual published DANMAP report describes the results of this surveillance and contains detailed analysis of antimicrobial usage and resistance in humans.

About the position
Statens Serum Institut represents Denmark in the second EU Joint action on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infections (JAMRAI 2). We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to work with us on enhancing the surveillance of antimicrobial consumption and resistance. The primary focus will be to contribute to the JAMRAI-2 project. You will work as a project leader close together with international colleagues and are responsible for managing the SSI contribution in the JAMRAI-2 work package concerning access to vulnerable and important antimicrobial. You will be responsible for national and international collaborations, take part in organizing country specific interventions, host regular meetings with national and international stakeholders and presenting data logically and to perform statistical and epidemiological analyses together with the team. You will also be part of the DANMAP team. The DANMAP team consist of three colleagues at SSI who work together with DTU colleagues on the DANMAP report as well as other national and international collaborators in surveillance and research projects.

Your education, experience and personal qualifications
You are a medical doctor with clinical experience from general practice and/or hospitals. Interest in microbiology, antimicrobial resistance and surveillance programs is crucial.

You are an enthusiastic, innovative and open-minded person with a strong interest in combining antimicrobial resistance and consumption data with other measures to advance our surveillance and ultimately to tackle the threat of increasing antimicrobial resistance.

You have excellent cooperation and communication skills and are able to apply theory to practice.

You can speak and write English.

You are able to work in a team that serves many stakeholders and eager to engage international teams of microbiologists and scientist.

Experience in updating websites will be seen as a plus.
