Your position
As our new Junior Telecommunications Engineer, you will be part of the dedicated Engineering team in our Technology Solutions Division. You will join a multicultural, diverse team of skilled, enthusiastic telecommunication specialists responsible for creating, designing, and developing critical communications systems for the offshore energy industry.
Your tasks & responsibilities
Your primary responsibility will be to take part in designing and engineering new state-of-the-art network systems, radio systems, Public Address and General Alarms (PAGA), weather monitoring systems and other telecommunications systems for global clients.
The function is directly responsible to assist the Project Manager in all aspects
of the assigned project.
• Assist Project Engineers in producing telecom system drawings for
approval submission
• Check system compliance for project requirements and translate to project
documents
• Checking of equipment ordered for a specific project, ensuring technical
compliance with relevant specification requirements
• Provide project progress updates and status reports to Project Manager
• Provide technical support to system assembly and fabrication, and ensure
assembly is done according to project requirements
• Assist Project Engineers to organize and plan usage of available
resources to achieve optimal performance and cost efficiency for each project
• Assist Project Engineer to report, follow-up and resolve on
non-conformance issues and customers’ complaints
• To maintain Semco’s quality policy and take active part in implementing
quality system
• Critical adherence to deadlines
• Assist the Project Engineer to monitor project deliverables in terms of
delivery and quality control
• Assist in site commissioning if required
Your profile & qualifications
We are looking for someone who is passionate about telecommunications, wants to leave their mark on it, and is eager to learn and develop their skills within the field. You are a detail-oriented and structured engineer, someone excited about tackling complex engineering challenges and actively want to participate in teamwork.
We imagine that you have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or IT
- A passion for technology, IT systems and electronics
- A positive attitude, an analytical mindset and a spirit of curiosity
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and spoken English).
