We might have the perfect opportunity for you!We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our newly established power trading team in Singapore. As the first Software Engineer in the team based in Singapore, you will have a key role in building IT solutions for our APAC business.

The Journey
Since 2017, we have been on a journey with the clear goal of rethinking energy trading and organizational culture. A core element in this journey is to rethink how data and technology are central part of our business, and we call this beautiful mix of energy and technology 'EnergyTech'. We have been very successful with our business in Europe and US, and in 2024, we expanded our journey to APAC and with offices in Singapore and Tokyo.

Now, we are looking to further grow our APAC team with a Data/Software Engineer. Your primary role will be to contribute to the establishing of InCommodities APAC’s software solutions. As we are in a build-up phase, the role will cover a wide range of tasks from being both very operational as well as looking into the broader scope and ensure the developed solutions are aligned with our strategic direction. The solutions can be build with inspiration from our European sister-company, and in close collaboration with colleagues across the APAC team. You will be working alongside experienced traders, and through collaboration with end-users, you will experience first-hand the impact and difference your work makes.

Responsibilities - you will:

  • Build and maintain trade capture from exchanges and manual
  • Select and integrate third party software providers
  • Develop and maintain data capture systems
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain trading tools
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store large volumes of data from various sources
  • Transform raw data into structured and usable formats, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability
  • Optimize data models, indexing strategies, and queries to ensure high data platform performance
  • Monitor data pipelines, identify bottlenecks, and optimize data workflows for performance and scalability
  • Develop and maintain documentation of data engineering processes, standards, and best practices
  • Ensure correctness, availability, and continued maintenance of the systems deployed

Qualifications – we imagine that you:

  • Have proven capabilities with software development, including all steps of the software development lifecycle: planning, designing, developing, testing, deploying and operating
  • Have domain knowledge in the energy trading industry, but it is not a requirement
  • Ideally have experience with .NET and Python
  • Are based in or willing to relocate to Singapore
