Strategic developer at DALSA - DTU Bioengineering

Join our dynamic team as a Strategic developer at our DTU Arena in Life Science Automation (DALSA)! In this role, you will leverage your knowledge in life science automation and vision for the ideal state to drive the development of DALSA together with a team of experts from multiple DTU departments. You will help decide on key focus areas within the arena, targeting educational programs, automation workflow expansion, and stakeholder engagement. You will further help build public and private partnerships to drive innovation within DALSA, as well as aid in building a consortium to help mature DALSA into a Danish and European centre of excellence. To facilitate this process further you will also be key in leading funding strategy to ensure the continuous growth and expansion of activities.
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Strategic Developer with a strong background in life science automation and a keen interest in interdisciplinary collaboration. This individual will play a crucial role in our team, working closely with experts across various fields to advance automation workflows and educational programs. As part of the DALSA team, you will help build public and private partnerships and lead funding strategies to ensure continuous growth and expansion of activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and develop key focus areas within DALSA, targeting educational programs and automation workflow expansion.
  • Collaborate with experts across bioengineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science to conceptualize and execute projects.
  • Build and nurture public and private partnerships to drive innovation within DALSA.
  • Aid in building a public-private consortium to help develop DALSA into a centre of excellence at both Danish and European levels.
  • Lead funding strategies to support the continuous growth and expansion of DALSA's activities.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in life science automation.

Skills and qualifications

  • PhD or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field such as bioengineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering, connected to life science automation.
  • Solid experience in developing and growing research and scientific service organizations.
  • Proven track record of building successful partnerships and securing funding for projects. Ideally, in a public-private setting.
  • Proficiency in project management and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects successfully.
  • Creativity, proactivity, and a goal-oriented mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an interest in working in an international team.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
  • Experience with implementing automation workflows is an advantage.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The offered job is a permanent position.

You will be hired by DTU Dept. for Biotechnology and Biomedicine (short: Bioengineering) but work across DTU’s departments via the DALSA initiative and its organizational framework.
