Chief Software Engineer – Danske Bank Are you a passionate Software Engineer eager to drive positive change through technology and collaboration, working on cloud-native solutions in a flexible and inclusive work environment? Danske Bank is seeking a Chief Software Engineer to join our Core Financing Platform tribe.
About us Core Financing Platform (CFP) brings together an array of professionals responsible for crafting solutions that facilitate financing in the Nordic markets. The tribe consists of approximately 180 colleagues across three locations, with these new positions based out of our new domicile in København V.

About the position You will be part of the CFP Cloud Chapter DK, your professional home base and sparring network with approximately 10 peer cloud developers, led by your Chapter Lead, while your everyday work will take place in your agile cross-functional squad, managed by a Product Owner.
As one of our new Chief Software Engineers, you will join one of the following areas:
Workflow Maintenance and Modernization: Maintains, enhances, and modernises Camunda-based workflow applications facilitating processes for buying and selling homes across the Nordic markets.
e-LoanData: Loan monitoring and infrastructure for e-nettet to support data on loans, including redemption information exchanged between financial institutions.
Cloud Integration for Mainframe teams: Facilitates the integration and maintenance of cloud solutions in squads that otherwise primarily work with mainframe systems, supporting them in a smooth technological transition.
Main tasks include
- Maintaining, designing, and developing software solutions. Our technology stack includes .NET C#, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Camunda, and Azure DevOps with systems currently running on a private cloud platform being migrated to AWS.
- System stewardship in all aspects of supporting the systems owned by the squad, from development to managing CI/CD pipelines and mending vulnerabilities, as well as collaborating with other teams inside or outside the organisation.
- Actively participating in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, etc.
- Documenting code changes, performing risk assessments, and compliance-related administration.
- Ensuring code quality and compliance with technical standards.
- Contributing to architectural discussions, ensuring quality, scalability, performance, and availability.
- Driving your tasks and proactively collaborating with colleagues and other cross-functional teams.
- Technically guiding other developers, being a proactive part of the chapter, sharing insights at chapter- as well as tribe-level.
Your profile
- Experienced .NET C# Developer, likely with at least seven years of experience, working with complex applications using SOLID principles (deliberate or de facto) based on restful APIs (MVC/WebAPI) and MQs, automated testing (maybe even Test-Driven Development), newer C# language versions, etc., designing, coding and reviewing.
- Open-minded, forthcoming, and able to work independently, while also proactively driving tasks and including colleagues for support and knowledge sharing.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Danish is welcomed but not required.
- An understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) at a Proficient level is necessary for these roles, with the Cloud Integration position possibly requiring an Advanced level. If you do not already possess this insight, we will provide the necessary training to bring you up to speed.
