We are looking for experienced engineers to strengthen our electrical department in Asker. As a Principal Engineer, you will contribute to Aibel’s exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition. Our portfolio covers manned and unmanned Oil and Gas topsides, High Voltage substations (HVAC or HVDC), electrification and other industry projects.
About the position
Aibel's Electrical Engineers design and specify electrical systems solutions and strategies for projects in concept, study, and detail phases. You will also have the opportunity to take on the role of Discipline Lead in projects while holding this position. As a Discipline Lead in Aibel, you will providing technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers within the discipline, ensuring that the design and engineering work meet project requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities and tasks include
- Take on a leadership role in electrical systems design for Study, FEED, or EPC projects.
- Define, specify and design high - and low voltage electrical systems and packages
- Develop and assist in design of electrical philosophies, strategies, topologies, single line diagrams, load list, system description, PMS/PDCS systems and electrical system solutions
- Conduct and follow up electrical system calculations, analyses and assessments
- Participate and contribute to digitalization processes to help secure improvements in working methods
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering
- Experience from Electrical lead role - and system design activities
- Proven track record in conceptual and detailed engineering for large-scale projects.
- Experience within electrical system design and electrical distribution design at LV and HV distribution levels
- Experience and deep knowledge of electrical design according to relevant standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, ISO, DNVGL and IEC

- Systematic and accurate, with high loyalty to deadline and quality requirements
