Who we’re looking for
Topsoe’s Power-to-X unit is a strategic lighthouse on our path to be the leading provider of carbon emission reduction technologies. We are now looking for a new colleague to join SOEC Hardware Development, where we develop some of the central building blocks for our solid oxide electrolyzer cell (SOEC) technology, which through its unmatched energy efficiency will play a major role in the green electrification of the chemical and refinery industries.
You are a dedicated people manager and have experience with product development as well as organisational development. You will head a team of mechanical developers engaged with the development of our industrial SOEC stacks, so a strong technical background is required. The team is international with people from Iran, New Zealand, Italy, India, and Denmark. You will be part of the SOEC Hardware Development leadership team and contribute to the development of our product development processes and the maturation of our organization, where collaboration and support to other departments, such as our industrial SOEC manufacturing plant in Herning, plays an increasing role.
Furthermore, you will:
- Help your people develop and thrive.
- Be an active part of our leadership team.
- Provide technical and executional guidance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Stay updated with hardware technologies and industry trends.
- Monitor project progress and mitigate risks.
Beside the strong focus as people manager, you will have a key role in supporting:
- Strong conceptual development work for next generation stack designs.
- Stack development work that continuously improves stack lifetime and manufacturability.
- Capabilities for efficient and focused testing are in place.
- Selection of production processes for stack parts to further lower cost and increase sustainability.
- Smooth transfer of stack designs from pilot production to the industrial manufacturing plants.
You will also work to ensure that we are fit for a future with industrial production and industrial customers by building processes and competences to match future development tasks.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for a candidate with a passion for people and high ambitions for creating an engaging development environment. You succeed through your team but have strong mechanical engineering capabilities yourself.
Furthermore, you have the following skills:
- Proven ability to lead in complex environment - both technically and organization wise.
- Able to lead experts also outside your own technical expertise.
- Experience with product development methods.
- Good understanding of materials technology, fluid dynamics and structural mechanics.
- Good understanding of high temperature design and ceramic materials.
- Experience with manufacturing processes.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Experience with hybrid agile project models is a plus.
- Previous SOEC experience is a plus.
