Lead Generation Control Center (GCC) Operator

Join us in this role where you’ll direct a team monitoring and controlling the largest offshore wind projects in the US from a state-of-the-art Control Center located in Port Jefferson, NY.

Welcome to the Generation Control Center
You’ll be part of Ørsted North America Operations where you, together with your colleagues, will ensure safe, compliant, timely, and reliable operations to achieve regulatory compliance while maximizing yield by monitoring and controlling assets during normal and emergency conditions.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • Providing oversight to the GCC team’s operation of onshore and offshore generating facilities
  • Promoting Ørsted’s QHSE system and ensuring all GCCOs work according to its processes and procedures
  • Representing the GCC in various internal/external meetings
  • Assisting with GCCO onboarding and training activities
  • Supporting the development and implementation of department plans, processes, procedures, and job aids
  • Assisting the Head of GCC with various efforts and engagements

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have at least one or more years of control room experience, and/or renewable generation operations experience (preferably from the North-eastern US or ERCOT regions), and/or at least two years of management or supervisory experience, ideally within a control center or power plant
  • have demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to train and develop others
  • hold NERC certification, preferably Reliability Coordinator
  • hold, or can obtain with company support, all required regional entity certification(s)
  • hold, or an obtain, with company support, required Ørsted Electrical Safety Rules authorizations.
