Freight Forwarding Agent for Blue Water Shipping in Manchester

At our office in Manchester, we now have an opening for the right candidate that is looking for a new challenge. The Manchester office is situated in Trafford Park, less than 6 km from the center of Manchester with free onsite parking and excellent access to public transport.

The position

The position is a full-time employment and will involve dealing with our customers and partners handling traffic to various European destinations. There will also be heavy involvement in our established own controlled service lines between UK and Scandinavia. Building relationships with your fellow Blue Water colleagues overseas to create solutions together. Some previous experience in exhibition transport and procedures would be advantageous.

The job includes:

• Bookings for both clients and partners
• Daily contact with customers, partners, drivers and colleagues
• Inform and update clients and partners
• Make transport documents, loading and unloading list for terminal
• Follow up on the daily work
• Transport planning
• Book ferries
• Data Entry
• Targeted Sales / Quotations

What we expect from you
Important that you have good communication skills in English. Furthermore, we expect that you:

• Have some experience as a freight forwarder 2 years minimum, preferably with Road experience
• Some experience and general knowledge of UK/EU customs procedures
• A high level of accuracy and diligence in daily tasks
• Strong IT knowledge, particularly Microsoft Office platform
• Can work independently and take responsibility for your own tasks
• Are motivated by a hectic workday and sometimes large workloads and deadlines
