Job Summary
Location: APAC (Singapore, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia)
The Regional Treasury Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing all treasury-related activities within a specific geographic region. This role ensures effective liquidity management, risk mitigation, and compliance with corporate policies. The Regional Treasury Controller collaborates closely with the finance, accounting, and operations teams to optimize cash flow, banking relationships, and financial processes across the region.
The Treasury Controller will manage our subsidiaries and operations in APAC meaning Singapore, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia. As a regional expert you know the APAC market, dynamics, infrastructure and best practices in the world of Treasury. Your knowledge base and skillset will be a important keystone in bridging our global Treasury practice into APAC and identifying opportunities and mitigating risk in our operations.
The role are new and will be in close collaboration with the global Treasury & Cash Management team based in HQ Denmark and the Regional Finance Director for APAC.
Your Role
Cash & Liquidity Management:
- Manage daily cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
- Forecast short- and long-term cash needs and develop strategies for optimizing cash positions.
- Ensure effective cash pooling, cash concentration, and intercompany cash flows across the region.
Banking Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with regional and international banks.
- Negotiate and manage banking services, credit facilities, and treasury products.
- Ensure all bank accounts and mandates are up to date and aligned with the company’s policies.
Risk Management:
- Monitor and mitigate financial risks, including foreign exchange, interest rate, and counterparty risks.
- Implement hedging strategies where necessary, in line with corporate guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls for treasury activities.
Working Capital & Debt Management:
- Optimize working capital by managing receivables, payables, and inventory processes in coordination with other departments.
Treasury Reporting & Analysis:
- Provide regular treasury reports to HQ & senior management, including cash flow forecasts, variance analyses, and KPIs.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes from a treasury perspective.
- Analyze and report on foreign exchange exposure and market trends.
Process Improvement & Automation:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of treasury operations.
- Leverage technology to streamline cash management, payment processing, and bank reconciliation processes.
Development & Business Partnering:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align treasury activities with broader financial and operational goals.
- Act as a business partner to your operational colleagues with general counseling, advisory on larger capital project and risk management.
Your Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CFA/CTP certification is a plus.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in corporate treasury, cash management, or finance, preferably in a multinational or regional environment.
- Strong knowledge of treasury systems, cash flow forecasting, and risk management strategies.
- Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Strong understanding of banking systems, treasury tools, and financial markets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
