We are looking for a Department Manager for Engineering Management for our Oslo office in Asker. This is a position within the base organization in our business unit Field Development & Offshore Wind (FD&OW). Aibel's many Department Managers play an important role in building and securing our competence and capacity through recruitment, employee development and mobilizing employees and hired-ins to our projects.
Department Managers are an integral part of the base organization engineering management team. You will be given necessary training and support to guide you in your new role. And at the same time we are eager to learn from you and the experience you bring. We are seeking individuals engaged in organizational development, with an interest in leading and developing our valued team members. A typical department manager position in FD&OW will have a base workload of 50-100%, depending on the department, with the remaining time dedicated to technical project work. However, the Department Manager role will be your primary responsibility.
Scope of work:
- Identify talents and develop employees
- Mobilise resources to project roles to secure project delivery
- Develop and attract competence for the future
- Personnel management, i.e. employee follow up, performance and talent management
- Budget and result responsibility for own department
- Ensure information flow within department
- Recruitment and hire-in
- Contribute to a positive social and working environment
Qualifications and work experience:
We are looking for people with an interest in leading and developing the individuals within our technical environment. We expect you have a minimum of 10 years technical experience from FEEDs/EPC projects as well as relevant leadership experience.
Furthermore, we believe you:
- Have a keen interest in leadership and a proven track record from earlier leadership experience. Ideally you have knowledge and experience from both technical and personnel management
- Hold a relevant technical degree (BSc or MSc)
- Experience in Engineering Management
- Focus on building strong relations and work targeted to create a positive working environment
- Are eager to secure the growth and development of both individuals and organisation
- Work proactively to acquire knowledge related to procedures and guidelines relevant for the scope under your responsibility
- Communicate effectively in both English and Norwegian, both verbally and in writing
- Have a strategic mindset and work systematically and structured to reach defined targets
- Are solutions oriented, open to change and passionate about the deliverables and development of Aibel
