Core Responsibilities
- Drive the Element Design from concept sketching to final design for manufacturing
- Work closely with Engineering and Model Design to deliver LEGO parts ready for production
- Be a role model of proactivity, collaboration, thought leadership in design practice and execution excellence for colleagues, piers and partners
- Drive partner collaboration to succeed together in complex design, engineering and manufacturing challenges
- Focus on innovation, LEGO system-in-play and production demands
- Share knowledge and experiences to colleagues and piers, and turn learning into continuous improvement
- Contribute proactively to the mapping and evolution of the LEGO Design DNA
- Optimize and maintain internal processes.

Our LEGO Design Organization consists of a dynamic, creative, and collaborative culture. No two projects are the same, and they all require different needs and expertise.
Element Design is a key department in the development of new LEGO bricks (building bricks, animals, wigs,…), playing a pivotal role in the intersection of design for aesthetics, design for play and design for manufacturing. Here, success is always a team sport, bridging the projects shaping our different play experiences with our outstanding engineering and manufacturing teams.
This department is delivering tangible innovation in the form of new elements, and we are responsible for designing more than 350 new LEGO® bricks for our portfolio each year!
Do you have what it takes?
- Fine Arts/ Design/ Engineering/Industrial Design or equivalent educations
- Expert 3D software skills in one or more of the following softwares: Z-brush/freeform/Rhino/NX…
- Hand sketching, physical hand modelling is a plus
- Proven track of design experience with product design and experience with leading design processes, ideally more than a handful of years' experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient understanding of Injection Molding processes
- Good analytic and system thinking skills
- Proven experience with collaboration across functional areas
- Good at documenting progress and planning own time
It is an advantage if you bring an understanding of play from a child’s perspective.
