IT Development Engineer - Focus on Test Automation, Lystrup/Darmstadt

Team and Role
As our IT Development Engineer with a strong focus on test automation, you will be a core member of the IT Development team in Corporate IT. You will lead efforts to build and maintain robust test automation processes that ensure high-quality software releases. Working in a small but dedicated team, you will support our mission to enhance IT performance through automated testing, contributing directly to ERP, web, and integration development initiatives.

Our IT Development team focuses on various assignments, including ERP development, integration, web development, Linux platform development, and automation. You will be joining a collaborative team of colleagues, including members with automation expertise, and working closely with developers and operational staff. This role offers a hands-on environment where you can lead test automation initiatives and make a real impact on quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing automated testing frameworks and processes
• Collaborating with developers to establish testing best practices across projects
• Setting up our CI/CD pipelines with a focus on test automation, primarily using Jenkins
• Developing our Linux platform and leveraging container technologies
• Identifying opportunities for automation across our platforms and developing robust solutions
• Integrating and deploying solutions in a containerized environment
• Assisting with troubleshooting and ensuring system stability across test and production environments

Your expertise will help us implement industry-leading automation practices, ultimately reducing deployment times and enhancing reliability. Qualifications

Key qualifications include:

• 2–4 years of experience in test automation and quality assurance
• Familiarity with Linux environments and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)
• Experience with automation frameworks and test-driven development methodologies
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Programming skills in python

Qualifications marked as nice to have, but not a requirement:

• Experience working in a team setting focused on ERP, integration, or platform development
• Knowledge of data warehousing or database management
• Experience with Ansible

Required education/degree:

• Bachelor's degree within Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field of study. This is combined with 2-4 years of relevant working experience, especially within automation.
