As the Android Team Manager at e-conomic, you’ll support your team’s growth, streamline development processes, and ensure we deliver meaningful features that empower thousands of Danish businesses.

Role Scope & Impact
In this role, you’ll lead a technical team, while fostering an environment that promotes open communication, learning, and development. You’ll support their growth with consistent feedback, goal-setting, and by creating a psychologically safe space for creativity and constructive feedback.

Your goal is to develop a team that is not only skilled in Android development, but also highly motivated and committed to both personal and team success. You will conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and support the team’s cohesion by addressing challenges proactively and celebrating wins.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

  • Lead & Develop the Team
    Provide regular coaching and weekly 1:1s to support team growth
  • Drive Strategic Goals
    Define and monitor progress towards key milestones and objectives for the Android team.
  • Refine Development Processes
    Leverage agile methodologies to streamline workflows and maintain high productivity.
  • Allocate Resources & Manage Projects
    Efficiently plan for resource needs, ensuring project timelines are met despite potential disruptions.
  • Collaborate Across Teams
    Work with product, design, and QA to align on requirements and timelines for smooth project delivery.

About the Team
You will be joining our development organization Products (R&D) with +180 employees, primarily located in Denmark, Romania and Portugal, working with technologies and platforms like C#, React, MS-SQL, and we continuously explore tools that enhance our development. The product department is a diverse group of +20 nationalities, including Developers, Product Managers, QA Engineers and UX Designers.

The Android Team
The Android Team consists of 3 senior Android developers, one QA engineer with expertise in both iOS and Android and one Backend Developer. The team is spread across locations in Denmark, Portugal, Romania, and Slovakia. But important to mention, that despite the distance, the team excels in collaborating seamlessly and are committed to taking full ownership of the tasks they plan and deliver.

Your skills and experience
While a solid understanding of Android architecture and release cycles is valuable, what we value most is your commitment to supporting your team and helping them thrive. Relevant technical knowledge is a plus, but not essential - which is why we’ve listed team-focused experience first.

  • Experience in mentoring a technical team or a strong desire to take on this responsibility
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively
  • Skill in setting clear objectives that align with company goals
  • Familiarity with Scrum or Kanban practices to support agile workflows
  • Solid collaboration skills across departments like product, design, and QA
  • Above all, a high level of emotional intelligence and a genuine enthusiasm for working with people
  • Fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written

In addition to the above, the following technical skills are a plus:

  • Hands-on experience in Android development, ideally using Kotlin.
  • Familiarity CI/CD for a smooth development workflow
  • Basic knowledge of TypeScript for cross-platform development considerations
  • Ability to apply Android architecture knowledge and mobile development principles.
  • Code Quality Standards – Knowledge of code screening principles and best practices.

Recruitment Process
Initial Screening: A 30-minute chat with Hanne, our Talent Acquisition Partner.

First Interview: A 60-minute meet-and-greet with Silviu.

Second Interview: A 60-minute case interview with Silviu and Mark Kevings (Head of Development), followed by a 45-minute personality test review with Hanne and Silviu. Prior to the 2nd interview you'll complete a personality test.
