Cloud Data Platform Engineer
Ørsted
Join us in this role where you’ll play a crucial part in the development and maintenance of our platform solutions of today and for the future. We operate in a global matrix organisation where you will collaborate with domain experts across Europe and Malaysia to deliver value to the business from an IT organisation of nearly 1500 employees.
Welcome to Ørsted IT
You’ll be part of IT Product Line, Ørsted Data Eco System, where you, together with your colleagues, will support the Ørsted Data Ecosystem, a modern cloud-based data platform that facilitates the collection, processing, and consumption of data from all our business units. We utilize both batch and streaming patterns to make data accessible to analysts, data scientists, and machine learning models. In managing our backlog, we aim to empower decision-making, promote collaboration, and provide work hour flexibility. As a team, we foster a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive work environment where we take full ownership, offer flexibility, and value the opportunity of being onsite at our office three days per week.
You’ll play an important role in:
- continuously improving, monitoring, maintaining, and extending the Kafka streaming platform, part of the Data Ecosystem infrastructure in the cloud and on-premise
- helping us adopt Kafka streaming in additional low latency use-cases to create more value for the business users regarding asset operations, trading, and other exciting areas
- ensuring that the platform is secure, stable, cost-effective, and scalable
- collaborating with architects to set guidelines and standards for the platform
- troubleshooting tickets and incidents reported by data engineers relating to the platform and helping them succeed with their deliveries.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have experience in Kafka technology, Kafka platform operation, or Kafka applications
- have experience using Kubernetes, Docker, and Podman, as well as deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and securing cloud resources (e.g., on Azure or AWS)
- enjoy collaborating on features and user stories with your colleagues in the team, and can show transparency with your work through documenting and communicating it clearly, both in meetings, comments, chats, and pull requests
- have experience with automation, version control, DevOps, IaC and CI/CD (e.g., using Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Terraform)
- have experience in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, and Azure CLI) and it is a big plus also having experience with software development (e.g., using Python, Java or C#).
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
