About the job
Alfa Laval in Søborg is looking for a skilled Engineer in gearbox design. You will join R&D Decanters, responsible for decanters' product and technology development. We are searching for a skilled engineer who would like to be part of expanding our technological knowledge and making an impact on the future development of decanters. For this position, you will enter a major role, where you will be the go-to person and specialist in gearbox design. In close cooperation with your colleagues in R&D as well as colleagues in other departments focusing on production, service, and sales, you will be engaged in the following tasks:
- Design, improve & maintain our range of planetary gearboxes
- Design and maintain machine components
- Participate in decanter development projects.
- Improve the existing range of decanters through design optimization and cost reduction
- Build field experience by troubleshooting for customers
- Work on quality cases including testing in our Test & Innovation Center as well as in the field together with our customers
- Training of new employees from our sales and service teams
At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is based at our Søborg office in Copenhagen, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 5 – 10 days per year.
What you know
To be successful in this position, we expect you to hold a degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering and have min. 2-3 years of experience in gearbox design. Besides that, you have:
- A theoretical background in mechanics design, strength, and dynamics
- Interest in maintenance & improving our range of gearbox designs
- Experience with KISSsoft program (Design concepts for a Gearbox)
- Minimum of 2 years of project management experience
- Experience in 3D CAD user (NX)
- Experience with Team Center (ERP)
- You are fluent in English
