Job Description
Are you an experienced Toolmaker/Mould Designer, and are you eager to construct, execute and deliver world-class quality moulds?

Bring your strong DFM moulding skills, excellent stakeholder management capabilities and learning mindset into play in this role in our Maturing Manufacturing team in Billund.

No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Core Responsibilities
In this new position as Senior Mould Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for executing the constructions of moulds within a new moulding platform named Low Volume Moulding (LVM). Furthermore, you will have tasks within project management, LEAN and process coordination. However, most of your time will be desk work doing job breakdown, CAM, CAD and studying 3D scanning. More specifically, you will:

  • Mature elements, make robust mould constructions in 3D CAD for DFM and be part of producing the moulds in high quality. Following this, ensure that all mould master data appear in SAP
  • Responsible for standard work documentation meaning – creation, revision, translation, maintenance, uploading and administration and sharing of documentation
  • Identify mould mistakes, correct them and change processes, if needed. Develop guides/templates that support the daily work
  • Approve possible loops in Mould Qualification, make rework of moulds and participate in possible escalations
  • Bring new learnings and knowledge into play to support the development of the moulding platform both in test and implementation phase on a global scale
  • Drive KPI initiatives and LEGO Continuous Improvement (LCI) support
  • Support Novelty Element engineers with DFM expertise
  • Advocate, enhance and engage in collaborations across departments (especially, Novelty Element Development, Maturing Manufacturing and Mould Qualification)
  • Support the training of colleagues in best practice for robust mould design and manufacturing during daily dialogues, handover meetings, etc.

Play your part in our team succeeding
You will join the Maturing Manufacturing team in Billund being part in all phases from initial idea for the design, manufacture and optimization of prototype and production moulds. The team consists of 11 highly skilled colleagues with diverse sets of backgrounds, age groups, etc.

You are part of shifting teams who, in close collaboration, apply the latest CAD / CAM IT tools to work with CNC milling and operation of the latest 3- and 5-axis machining centers. This role will give you a unique opportunity to develop your professional knowledge, and meanwhile to contribute to the department's future development and workflows.

Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate brings broad mould manufacturing experience as Toolmaker (Swiss/German/Danish model), Mould Designer, Industrial Technician or equivalent roles working with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), mould design and mechanical constructions. Most importantly, you have:

  • Executing structured working attitude with strong curiosity for new learnings
  • Proven skills in CAM Programming (preferably, PowerMill), CNC Milling (Heidenhain & Fanuc), EDM, CMM (preferably, Ziess Calypso), 3D CAD Systems (preferably, Siemens NX) and 3D scanning
  • Planning and LEAN capabilities
  • Experience with Project Management and profound examples to share
  • Strong Stakeholder Management skills being able to engage with different organizational levels
  • Proficiency in Danish and English both verbally and written
  • Willingness to travel (occasionally, based on business needs)
