Platform Engineering Principal for Denmark

Join us in this role where you’ll ensure the adoption and development of our internal developer platform, which is built to empower software developers across the organisation. The platform consists of off-the-shelf components, customised open-source components, APIs, and tooling supported by governance, guidance, and documentation with the aim of scaling DevSecOps within our organisation. You’ll collaborate with development teams in the adoption of products and practices of our developer platform and be responsible for their implementation as well as documentation and guidelines.

You’ll be an integral part of the Ørsted Developer Platform (ODP) team where you, together with your colleagues, will streamline and enhance our software development processes for developers. As Platform Engineering Principal, you'll drive platform and developer advocacy and promote the ODP by highlighting its features and benefits while encouraging and enabling adoption by working closely with the developer communities and delivery organisations to adopt ODP deliverables and software development life cycles. As a team, we take pride in having fun and playing a central part in the DevSecOps and platform engineering transformation as evangelists and ambassadors for the ODP architecture by anchoring key concepts and messages.
You’ll play an important role in:
- promoting our developer platform by highlighting its features and benefits and evangelising the target architecture
- working closely with delivery organisations and communities of practice (CoPs) in Ørsted for adopting ODP products, services, best practices, and frameworks
- providing technical leadership and training within the developer domains, influencing the directions of products and services through the developer toolchain
- driving and overseeing cross-organisational deliverables e.g. in CoPs to deliver on the ODP vision and collaborating with platform users and architects to define platform APIs, CLIs, etc.
- collecting and relaying developer experiences and feedback to the ODP team and Ørsted leadership as input for the enterprise DevSecOps roadmap
- supporting in designing, developing, and maintaining a high-quality developer platform, incl. APIs, tooling, and customisation of commercial and open-source components.
To succeed in the role, you:
- ensure awareness of our ODP vision, mission, and target architecture and ensure adoption of ODP products, services, best practices, and frameworks
- have experience providing technical leadership and direction for developers and with support and drive the implementation of ODP target architecture within delivery organisations
- have experience assessing and filling gaps in developer knowledge, guidance, and training material required for platform users and developers
- know how to drive and oversee deliverables from cross-organisational entities such as CoPs or proof of concept groups and have the experience needed to coach and mentor developers and collaboration partners in and outside the team
- prioritise platform components and APIs to evolve with platform users’ needs using your stakeholder management skills and experience
- have experience with software development in at least two of the following technology stacks: Python, .NET, JavaScript, Java, and Go, as well as the curiosity and drive to take up new stacks.
