Are you looking for an internship opportunity with one of the world’s largest NGOs? If the answer is yes, you could be one of our new interns for the spring semester.
Who are we?
Danish Refugee Council (DRC) ranks as one of the best NGOs in the world, doing humanitarian work in 40 countries around the globe. DRC projects are often funded or co-funded through partnerships with leading Global and Danish foundations. Our partnerships are growing in numbers and size, and we have ambitions to develop this area further with Danish and international foundations. The Global Foundations Unit (GFU) is responsible for strengthening DRC’s capacity to maintain and grow these relationships and increase fundraising efforts, and we’re now looking for an intern interested in supporting and assisting us in the process.
About the GFU internship
As the GFU intern, you will join a newly established and dynamic team at the DRC HQ, actively collaborating with units across the organization. In this role, you will take on your own set of responsibilities while also contributing to critical support functions. These will include conducting research and analysis on donor trends, engaging in partnership development with Danish and international foundations, and assisting in the coordination of key projects. Your internship with the GFU team will focus on the following main areas:
- Research and mapping of Danish and international foundations as well as support in the due diligence process.
- Help through producing fundraising material and outreach.
- Provide grant management support and administration as required.
- Help maintain internal communication sites and develop structures on workspaces.
- Helping to organise meetings and appointments as well as produce and distribute minutes of meetings.
- Providing inputs and supporting the development of external products such as presentations.
Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to delve into various learning opportunities such as courses or presentations relevant to each unit and the broader organization. We offer flexibility in the type of tasks, so you also have the possibility to influence your internship, subject to what is relevant to your study programme.
About you
To be successful in these roles we expect you to be flexible, eager to learn and proactive. All employees and interns at DRC should master DRC's core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving for excellence and Demonstrating integrity.
