GLS International serves as the central hub within the global GLS network. It manages and coordinates all logistical connections across international borders, ensuring seamless integration and efficiency. The organization is responsible for developing and overseeing international operational procedures and policies, ensuring consistency and compliance throughout the network. Additionally, GLS International conducts quality checks and balances, maintaining high standards in service delivery and operational excellence.
As the Finance Director for GLS International, you will take full responsibility for all financial activities within our international operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and driving financial performance and operational excellence.
Finance Director (f/m/d)
Based in Bad Hersfeld / Kassel, Germany (Hybrid, 3 days/week in office)
This is what your responsibilities are:
- Responsible for all Finance related topics for GLS International, supporting P&L Management ensuring strong financial results and cost management together with a team of 3-4 direct reports
- Develop and execute financial strategies that support GLS International's long-term growth and sustainability
- Oversee controlling processes to monitor and optimize financial performance and sales metrics
- Oversee the accuracy of bookkeeping, clearing and payroll (outsourced) processes for GLS International
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and financial targets
- Deliver accurate and comprehensive financial reports that are compliant and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
- Align financial topics with GLS Germany to ensure cohesive operations
What are you bringing?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (advanced certifications preferred)
- At least 7 years of professional experience in finance-related areas, with expertise in transfer pricing and accounting, and experience in a leadership role
- Proficiency in SAP and MS Office tools
- Strong skills in agile project management, with international project experience preferred
- Analytical mindset with a focus on precision, curiosity, and excellent communication skills
- Fluency in written and spoken German and English
- Willingness to travel internationally
