CUSTOMS OPERATIONS MANAGER PLACED AT COPENHAGEN AIRPORT
On behalf of our client CACESA, Grafton is looking for a Customs Operations Manager, to join and build up CACESA’s new branch office in Copenhagen, Denmark.
CACESA is a company dedicated to international trade, with locations in several countries including Belgium, Poland, the Netherlands, Turkey, Hungary, France, the UK, Germany, and soon, Denmark. This is why they want their first team member to help CACESA to take this important leap and take charge of the entire operation of the new branch office.
As the Operations Manager, you will be the driving force behind the planning, organization, management, and control of the e-commerce service operations. Your mission is to ensure efficiency and compliance with CACESA’s goals, internal procedures, and legal requirements while overseeing all operational and administrative tasks of the branch.
YOUR PRIMARY WORK TASKS
- Maintain the company’s corporate image with Customs Authorities, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company procedures, security regulations, and applicable laws, particularly customs regulations
- Oversee the customs authorization process, ensuring accurate information submission (H7 Declaration, Simplified Procedure, Authorized consignor/consignee)
- Ensure proper handling of goods during warehouse inspections and manage inbound/outbound truck processes
- Handle claims and incidents related to e-commerce operations, ensuring all parties are informed
- Support business development by identifying customs clearance opportunities, collaborating with the sales department
- Address customer inquiries regarding e-commerce operations
- Implement new operations with customers, transportation companies, and handling terminals.
- Communicate branch goals to your team and analyze performance, coordinate, supervise team activities and ensuring smooth operations
- Plan and supervise staff, manage schedules, and support their development, recruitment, and onboarding processes
- Report branch performance and KPIs to customers and superiors
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 7 year-experience in customs department in Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, Logistics and Transport companies or similar
- Minimum 3 year of experience managing staff and leading operations
- Studies of Foreign Trade, Business Administration or similar
- B2-C1 level of English and if you have B1-B2 level of Danish it would be an advantage
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience using ERP-systems
