Do you want use your experience and skills within microwave engineering to be a part of designing the next generation of our advanced Doppler radars?
Then this is your chance to join Weibel in a position as Microwave Engineer in our Antenna group. We can offer an exciting opportunity where you get to use your technical skills in an innovative environment where our goal is to push the performance of radars to the limit. We have a full-scale production facility next to our developers – this is our key strength that allows us to maintain agility in exploring new solutions without compromising quality.

Due to increasing demands for our products, we are looking for a new colleague for a position as Microwave Engineer to strengthen our Antenna group. Our antennas are designed, tested and produced in-house at our headquarter in Allerød. The active antenna arrays contain both RF, analog, power and digital control electronics, giving you an opportunity to work closely together with colleagues who have a different field of expertise than yourself.

Continuing a legacy of extremely high accuracy with a new generation of solutions
You will be part of the team that designs and verifies the microwave components going into our tracking radars. The group designs almost all electronic elements of the radar antennas including antenna elements, mixers, LNAs, HPAs, PSUs and digital circuits. We are also key players in our certification work, and we support our production team with module tests, system verification and debugging. You will work with system debugging and testing both internally and for certification, while also having design task on our roadmap projects.

Your main responsibility includes the following tasks:

  • Drive the design of various microwave PCBs and subsystems
  • Debugging and fault-finding on full radar systems during test
  • Support our production during the final stage before delivery
  • Collaborate with your engineering colleagues to find the best cross-functional solution
  • Have a system level understanding of the radar with eyes for debugging and test development
  • Test and verify performance of the developed solutions – both on board level, module level and on the full radar system

Other responsibilities and tasks will be:

  • Take part in the development of our next generation radar platform architecture
  • Support our production and customers with updated documentation
  • Participate in assembly, test and evaluation of prototypes of designs as well as DFM reviews with our large in-house production team

About you
We are looking for an experience colleague and ideally you have +10 years of experience from a similar role. You are able to get up to speed quickly with the immediate design, debugging and compliance tasks while learning the design trade-offs relevant to Weibel radars. Hands-on experience with debugging in a live environment is a significant advantage. The job requires you to be detailed and structured in your work while maintaining an overview of the system and deadlines.

Your professional CV includes:

  • A university degree preferably within electrical engineering
  • Experience with design of microwave circuits and debugging
  • Experience with microwave measuring instruments such as VNAs, Spectrum Analysers, and signal generators
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic theory and free space waves
  • Preferably experience with CE approval of new products

Your new team
The Antenna group consists of more than 40 engineers with anything from a few years to 30+ years of experience; of these 17 are a part of the electronics team. The group is cross functional and consists of electronic/RF engineers, hardware engineers and mechanical engineers. We have created it in this way, because we believe that bringing people with different competences together early in the design process will generate the best solutions.
