Legal Counsel, Compliance – Tietoevry Banking

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Legal and Compliance department as Legal Counsel, Regulatory Compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory compliance with a proven track record. Experience from an international/multi-jurisdictional organization is preferable. You will be part of the Legal and Compliance department and collaborate tightly with your compliance colleagues. This position will be reporting to the Head of Compliance.
With us you will
- Improve, implement and maintain a compliance program that complies with applicable laws and regulations in all regions where Tietoevry Banking is active.
- Draft and revise policies, procedures, and training materials to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Draft and review contracts
- Draft legal analysis and management reviews
- Advise business units on compliance-related issues and provide guidance on policies and procedures
- Stay up-to-date on emerging regulatory developments and industry best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and business teams, to support overall company objectives
- Communicate relevant regulatory requirements to the organization
- Advise and support the organization on issues related to regulatory compliance
- Assist in the further development of appropriate methodologies to identify, assess, and monitor compliance risk and at the same time strengthen a culture of compliance. Among other things, through reporting, training activities and workshops
- Provide advice on outsourcing regulations
- Conduct investigations into potential compliance violations, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate resolution of issues
- Assist in privacy related questions
You have
- Nordic Master’s degree in law
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience as in-house counsel and/or from reputable law firms;
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements
- Experience conducting compliance risk assessments, drafting instructions and procedures
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent drafting skills
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English and at least one Nordic language (both written and spoken).
- Good knowledge of regulatory requirements for financial undertakings
- Good understanding or interest of the connection between the IT environment and regulatory requirements
- The ability to understand, interpret and communicate regulations
- The ability to build good relationships. You are a strong team player and communicate well across business areas and roles in the organization
- Able to lead and ensure implementation of projects/activities within set deadlines
- High work capacity, integrity, and ability to work independently and structured
