Lead Acoustic Engineer to Global Audiology Development

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Acoustic Engineer to join our Global Audiology Development team at GN. In this role, you will contribute to our purpose of Bringing People Closer. You will steer processes, promote commercial strategies, and develop innovative solutions in the field of acoustics.

We are a group of 8 skilled audiologists and hopefully you will be our new equally skilled acoustical engineer, enjoying the opportunity to learn from each other and our colleagues from other areas. We have access to quality test facilities, and we see the results of our work in the products.
We are specialized in everything related to audiology, hearing products, hearing aid users, and hearing aid fitters. The customer satisfaction is essential for us. We are proud of our work and the fact that we are part of launching user-centric new products on a regular basis.
At our office located in Ballerup, Denmark, you will be part of the Global Audiology Organization in Research and Development Center Hearing and report directly to our Director of Global Audiology Development, Charlotte Thunberg Jespersen. In addition to working alongside your colleagues at our Danish headquarter, you will collaborate with our development colleagues in Chicago and Xiamen.
You will be working with your audiology colleagues and engineers from other development departments on simulating realistic environments for e.g. speech in noise testing, setting up listening tests, working on demos, and analyzing data.
Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:
- Handle professional electroacoustic hardware (e.g., microphones, amplifiers, oscilloscopes, SPL meters, etc.)
- Develop advanced signal processing skills in Matlab for signal analysis, processing, and manipulation of software for listening tests
- Evaluate all aspects of hearing aids, fitting software, apps, and accessories.
- Conduct statistical analysis of behavioral data
- Utilize audio editing software (e.g., Audacity)
- Bridge the gap between various stakeholders and projects
- Write professional and scientific articles, if this is something that you aspire to
- Be empowered to contribute to the direction of your tasks
- Collaborate with technical audiologists on test design, data analysis and publications.
To perform well in the role, we imagine that you:
- Have a Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering Acoustics or a related field
- Have professional industrial experience in using electroacoustic hardware
- Possess advanced signal processing skills in Matlab
- Have knowledge in statistical analysis of behavioral data
- Are experienced with audio editing software
- Are specialized within hearing science and perception, or have taken courses from CAHR (Centre for Applied Hearing Research) are beneficial
- Are proficient in English
- Have a pragmatic approach and can carry out tasks with limited supervision
- Can collaborate well with others and work alone
