If you possess the skills to help excel in how we execute and manage projects in a global environment, then apply now and join the Global Contract Manufacturing Project Management Office (GCM PMO).

The position
We are seeking a Senior Project Portfolio Manager who thrives on driving and enhancing governance processes to ensure transparency and effective practices for management and project teams. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of complex projects, oversee portfolio performance, and take decisive actions to ensure successful project execution.

Areas of responsibility will include:

  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on portfolio performance, and drive discussions to prioritize projects, allocate resources effectively, and address pain points, risks, and gaps according to strategic objectives and business needs.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, management, and PMO team members, including cost controllers and process excellence managers, to ensure alignment and control over a constantly changing portfolio.
  • Define and optimize portfolio management processes, ensuring consistent and effective use of portfolio management tools.
  • Serve as the super user, expert, and trainer in our project portfolio management system, and identify and drive improvements alongside our process excellence manager.
  • Lead the implementation of process improvements, including communication and change management strategies.

To excel in this role, you should be detail-oriented, strategic, and proactive, capable of independently making decisions to enhance portfolio performance and mitigate risks. You should have a talent for building strong relationships, influencing decision-making, and effectively managing and communicating change. As you gain experience within our system and processes, your contributions will be crucial in implementing improvement opportunities.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, we expect you to:

  • Hold a master’s degree in project and change management, engineering management, business administration, finance, or other related fields.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in project management, with a proven track record in leading and managing a project portfolio, project prioritization, resource allocation, and change management.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in project portfolio management systems, with specific knowledge in Projectum considered an advantage.
  • Possess strong analytical skills to gather and interpret data, identify and address issues and risks promptly.
  • Apply critical thinking to solve complex problems and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Exhibit excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Hold certification in Project Management (e.g., PRINCE2 or PMP) and/or Lean Six Sigma, which is considered an advantage.

As a candidate, you should be capable of keeping a comprehensive perspective on business needs and excelling in a dynamic environment where teamwork is essential. At the same time, we expect you to have the ability to work independently with a positive, can-do attitude, while communicating clearly and engagingly.
