AQUAPORIN IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED FOOD & BEVERAGE ENGINEER WITH MEMBRANE FILTRATION TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE
Aquaporin A/S is an innovative water technology company leveraging biotechnology to improve the efficiency of water treatment and concentration of various streams. Our main strategy is to develop the Aquaporin Inside® technology capable of separating and purifying water from all other compounds.
We are looking for a highly skilled Engineer specialized in food & beverage (F&B) who will work on applications and system design with special focus on Forward Osmosis (FO) in food & beverage.
You will join the Commercial Engineering Forward Osmosis department. As part of a dynamic team, you will help commercialize the Aquaporin Inside® Technology in the F&B market.
Your responsibilities and tasks will include:
- Process Development: Integrate FO technology into food and beverage (F&B) applications and advance process and system development. Ensure PoU system performance through stress testing to define operating ranges and limitations. Coordinate safe and timely product testing using internal and external resources. Plan and lead on-site activities such as commissioning and piloting.
- Product Development: Support the Product Development team by conducting internal tests to validate product performance against standard protocols. Occasionally perform QC tests on returned modules.
- Technical Expertise: Understand membrane-based processes and create technical documentation (PFD, P&ID, basic engineering; experience with detailed engineering is a plus) for internal and external use and training (datasheets, manuals, tutorials, presentation.
- Customer Support: Serve as the first point of contact for collaborating partners or assigned key accounts. Review customer specifications and requirements, and communicate test results, recommendations, and risks. Actively participate in customer meetings and site visits to ensure technical alignment and address customer needs.
- Commercial Support: Provide support for commercial and technical proposals that emphasize the value proposition of our Aquaporin Inside® FO.
- Foster collaboration: Working closely together with colleagues across departments and external collaborators to ensure efficient development of our FO products.
Required qualifications are:
- Master's degree (M.Sc.): Food & Beverage Engineering and/or Process Engineering or a closely related field.
- Proven experience: Hands-on industry experience in membrane separation, characterization, and application in water treatment processes is essential. You have participated in running and maintaining membrane filtration skids. You know industrial standards and industrial procedures within the field of membranes. Preferably +3 years working experience.
- Knowledge: Knowledge about forward osmosis is considered an advantage
- Other competencies: Experience in the design and engineering of membrane filtration processes. Strong analytical skills in water and food & beverage chemistry.
- Collaborative & Agile: You thrive in a dynamic environment, collaborating effectively across all levels and skilfully managing multiple priorities.
- Independent & Proactive: You demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle projects independently and drive them towards completion.
- Excellent Communication skills: Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
