This is your unique chance to join our Radical Innovation and New Business Development team in “Buildings of the Future” – a team that has been established to discover, incubate and accelerate business opportunities leveraging ecosystem insights, radical innovation, partnerships and start-up engagement.

The purpose of the “Buildings of the Future” is to lead the way towards sustainable and healthy buildings, while ensuring that VELUX solutions are an increasingly desired part of future building designs. “Buildings of the Future” serves as an innovation- and business development unit to our Products & Innovation organization with both highly specialized competencies within indoor climate, daylight, energy and sustainability, as well as more generic areas such as business and strategy development, partnerships and start-up engagement. Finally, “Buildings of the Future” is playing a key role in pioneering climate and nature action, and leads the strategic efforts in showing the industry how to build sustainably.

Your challenges

As a Senior Business Developer in Radical Innovation and New Business Development at VELUX, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our innovation projects. You will be responsible for assessing market potential, ensuring the commercial viability of our innovation projects, and driving new product launches.

Your expertise will be crucial in building business cases, identifying target markets, detailing go-to-market strategies and driving successful product launches together with the sales organization.

More specifically, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Develop and validate business cases for innovation projects.
  • Lead the go-to-market strategy for new business opportunities, driving pilots, external partnerships and product launches as required.
  • Drive the commercialization of new business opportunities in collaboration with regional stakeholders, identify market challenges and proactively address them to scale new solutions
  • Collaborate with technical and commercial teams to ensure alignment on project goals..

Depending on where you reside, you will be based at our innovation hub, LKR Innovation House, in Østbirk or at our headquarters in Hørsholm. You will report directly to Senior Director of Radical Innovation & New Business Development, Nicolò Nielsen.

Your qualifications

You are characterized by your analytical and commercial mindset, and you easily adjust to new information and unexpected changes. You are curious by heart, comfortable with the unknowns and open to exploring new ways of doing things, and innovative thinking is one of your specialties. Your eagerness to learn and move things forward, drives you to take initiative in your work, and you are committed to achieving your goals and take ownership of your deliverables.

With your structured and systematic approach, you have an ability to simplify what’s complex, deliver on your deadlines and make clear and precise pitch, launch and presentation materials.

Moreover, you enjoy working with others and hold a collaborative mindset. Utilizing your solid stakeholder management skills, and you efficiently work and communicate across all levels of an organization and with a diverse group of stakeholders. You quickly establish rapport with people at all levels and your demeanor instills trust and confidence by which you are able to incentivize and motivate stakeholders to buy-in. You actively propose, recommend and lead the way, but you understand that to succeed, you must be an even stronger listener.

Additionally, you:

  • Hold a relevant Master’s degree with a commercial focus
  • Bring several years of experience in business development or related field (e.g. launch, start-up/scale-up), which has provided you with a sharp commercial toolbox related to e.g.; market analyses, customer engagement, pricing and product positioning
  • Solid experience in successfully bringing new products/solutions from idea to market
  • Hold profound analytical skills and proficiency in interpreting data, demonstrating an ability to build insights, storylines and value propositions from a complex set of information sources
  • Work holistically, taking into consideration the larger portfolio and organization
  • Are skilled in managing (larger) programs
  • Communicate in English at a professional level – verbally and in writing
  • Might have experience from building materials industry, though not a requirement
