The Product Manager for Product Discovery will be primarily responsible for driving the early-stage ideation, validation, and prioritization of product ideas. This role focuses on aligning product concepts with market needs, customer pain points, and the broader business strategy to ensure that products are feasible, viable, and desirable. By continuously refining and testing product ideas, the Product Manager will provide the foundation for successful product development, ensuring alignment with both strategic goals and customer expectations.
This role offers growth opportunities, impactful work, autonomy, thought leadership and the chance to shape the ambitious Lead Logistics strategy while representing best-in-class product development and management.
Key responsibilities
- Source and prioritize product ideas aligning with strategy and market demands.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitors.
- Gather customer insights using surveys, interviews, and feedback.
- Define and test customer problems and opportunities for innovation.
- Develop business cases assessing cost, revenue, and feasibility.
- Align discovery activities with product strategy and engage stakeholders.
- Prioritize opportunities based on business impact and resources.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to share insights and align strategies.
- Track key metrics like validation success and customer satisfaction.
- Continuously improve discovery processes with tools and methods.
Core Competencies & Skills
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Strong focus on understanding customer needs, pain points, and behaviors through direct engagement and research. Ideally well-aware of Design Thinking principles.
- Agility & Adaptability: Comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Assertiveness is your middle name!
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data and feedback from various sources, and use it to form and test hypotheses.
- Strategic Alignment: Strong understanding of business strategy, with the ability to ensure that product discovery aligns with company goals and objectives.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Sales, to turn ideas into validated product concepts.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, making complex ideas accessible to parties that are considered layman to the concepts and even senior executive stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving & Innovation: Proactively identify opportunities, think creatively, and solve problems in innovative ways, leveraging customer insights and market data.
