Background
DCA Lebanon has worked in mine action since 2007. In addition to reducing the harm from explosion, clearance activities also release contaminated land for socio-economic development in the context of rising demands from the local and refugee population. In 2012, DCA began implementing humanitarian and development projects through local partners and scaled up its operations in 2021 due to the deepening crisis in the country.

Role
The objective of this position is to receive and transport explosives daily from LAF store and handed to DCA qualified persons to conduct demolitions. The immediate workplace will be at Bsous office and DCA tasks in Mount Lebanon.

Responsibilities

  • Qualified to transport and handle explosives to be accredited by LMAC/RMAC.
  • Trained on explosives handling, storage, & transport.
  • The explosive handler shall have three stages of storage for explosives. Explosives and accessories are to be stored correctly, safely, and securely at each stage.
  • Prepare explosives material before transportation.
  • Keep the vehicles well maintained and in good working condition to transport the explosives.
  • Supervise quantities used by personnel during all operations.
  • Ensure that all explosives are stored in a secure and marked area at least 50m away from all other areas.
  • Report to DCA Operations Manager in a daily basis with information of used explosive by the end of each day, when it was used, date and time, type, quantity, and purpose for which it was used etc.,

  • يجب أن يكون قد تلقى تدريبًا على التعامل مع المتفجرات وتخزينها ونقلها.
  • يجب أن يكون لدى المُتعامل مع المتفجرات ثلاث مراحل لتخزين المتفجرات. يجب تخزين المتفجرات والملحقات بشكل صحيح، آمن ومضمون في كل مرحلة.
  • يجب أن يقوم بتحضير المواد المتفجرة بشكل جيد قبل النقل.
  • يجب دائمًا الحفاظ على صيانة المركبات بشكل جيد وأن تكون في حالة تشغيل جيدة من أجل نقل المتفجرات.
  • يجب الإشراف على الكميات المستخدمة من قبل الموظفين خلال جميع العمليات.
  • يجب على المُتعامل مع المتفجرات التأكد من أن جميع المتفجرات مخزنة في منطقة آمنة ومحددة على بعد ٥٠ مترًا على الأقل من جميع المناطق الأخرى.
  • يجب تقديم تقرير إلى رئيس العمليات في المنظمة بشكل يومي بالمعلومات المتعلقة بالمتفجرات المستخدمة في نهاية كل يوم، بما في ذلك متى تم استخدامها، التاريخ والوقت، النوع، الكمية والغرض من استخدامها، وما إلى ذلك.

Background

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in safely handling explosives, including transportation and storage; ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Must have accreditation by LMAC/RMAC for explosives handling or be willing to obtain it.
  • A minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed training programs related to explosives handling, storage, and transport, demonstrating a thorough understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Arabic is essential and effective communication with local authorities and personnel is crucial.
  • Proficiency in English is beneficial, especially for communication within an international organization.
  • Explosives Material Preparation: Ability to properly prepare explosives materials before.
  • Ability to properly prepare explosives materials.

Reporting

  • Regular reports on the performance and services will be submitted to the Field Operations Officer on a weekly basis.
  • Regular check-ins and feedback sessions will be conducted to ensure effective coordination and support.
