The Role

Genmab is looking to hire an experienced Associate Director/Director to join the Tax team in Copenhagen.

Taking up this role you will function as a leader and subject matter expert in indirect taxes. The Responsabilities within position is broad in its focus to support the growth of development and commercial of the company from an indirect tax perspective.

The primary responsibility is to manage the company’s VAT and customs related matters. In this role you will work closely together with the business, our finance department and our external advisors.

This role is a hybrid role and reports to the Senior Director Tax in NL.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating all matters related to indirect taxes for Genmab’s European entities
  • Strong business partnering with key stakeholders of the business as well as corporate functions across multiple jurisdictions
  • Act as the key contact on all indirect tax matters and provide indirect tax advice to multiple stakeholders with respect to (intercompany) supply chain structures and manage indirect tax risks
  • Support the structuring of new transaction flows and help to ensure alignment between Business/Tax/Finance/IT
  • Work with IT to ensure our systems (SAP) are kept up-to-date and aligned with applicable VAT requirements
  • Upon request, provide guidance with respect to the preparation and review of all European (and non-European where relevant) VAT reporting and associated compliance obligations
  • Manage customs compliance and reporting where required
  • Lead the indirect tax analysis of new business operations and cross-border transactions
  • Develop/maintain processes and procedures to ensure compliance with indirect tax laws and regulations
  • Review and optimize VAT related processes
  • Identify and drive implementation of indirect tax process improvements
  • Coordinate and manage indirect tax audits when required
  • Liaise with external advisors

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree and CPA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • At least 8-10 years of relevant indirect tax experience at a Big 4 company and/or multinational company
  • Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry experience is considered a plus
  • You have experience with (intercompany) supply chain structures and related focus areas from an indirect tax perspective.
  • SAP S/4HANA and indirect tax technology experience is considered a plus
  • You have analytical skills and excellent communication skills
  • You are able to conduct thorough analysis and develop specific options/recommendations
  • You are a highly motivated individual and are able to work efficiently on multiple priorities with little day to day oversight
  • Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
