Head of QHS in Bioenergy

We operate 7 bio converted power plants across Denmark and are now expanding with carbon capture plants. In this role you will be leading a safety journey and management of change.

You’ll be part of Asset Risk Management where you, together with your colleagues, will have responsibility for a step change in our safety and quality performance. You will lead a team of 15 dedicated colleagues and support the roll out and implementation of the Bio Safe Way program, which covers some 600 Orsted colleagues and approximately 700 contractors across our sites in Denmark. As a team, we focus on cooperation towards the common objective that everybody comes safely home – every day! This is also a characterizes our approach to contractor management: We succeed and fail together.
You’ll play an important role in:
- Leading the strategy and implementing same throughout Bio incl. roll out of the project BSW, Bio Safe Way
- Ensuring talent and career development in own team and across Orsted QHS community
- Providing advice, guidance and support on QHS operational and technical aspects, in particular operational processes, risk management and studies, plans and programs to all operational sites
- Anchoring safety activities and incident reporting systems in BIO, i.e. performance management on follow up of incidents, initiation of corrective action, update of instructions and sharing learning
- Developing strong working relationships between Orsted and our Contractors and Suppliers, between the local Operations sites and QHSE in the Region
- Establishing a learning organization with focus on continuous improvement.
To succeed in the role, you:
- Hold significant experience as an operational QHS-leader in the energy or equivalent sector
- Possess operational experience, appreciating what it takes and knows what good looks like
- Have a proven track record in implementing organizational changes
- Are performance oriented, capable of driving performance management across the organization and have the ability to challenge senior leaders on QHS-performance
- Are a strong communicator in Danish and English able to drive cultural change, exercise leadership and create organizational followership
- Have experience in stakeholder management and knowledge of Danish legislation on QHS.
