We are seeking a Head of Drug Product for our Kvistgaard manufacturing facility due to internal rotation. Reporting to the Head of Site, Kvistgaard, you will oversee all aspects of drug product manufacturing, including sterile filling, freeze-drying, and packaging operations, leading a team of 160+ professionals.
This role demands a visionary leader to drive high-quality, compliant production, foster operational excellence, and ensure the delivery of organizational goals. You will provide strategic and operational leadership, mentor and develop staff, and cultivate a collaborative, improvement-focused culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leadership: Ensure production schedules are met with consistent quality and efficiency. Drive operational improvements to enhance productivity and resource optimization.
- Compliance: Uphold cGMP, FDA, EMA, and other regulatory standards, supporting audits and quality initiatives in collaboration with QA and Regulatory Affairs.
- Process Optimization: Scale and optimize manufacturing processes while exploring new technologies to enhance operations.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration across the value chain and represent the function in senior leadership discussions.
- Budget Management: Manage departmental budgets, plan future resource needs, and align capacity with business growth.
Skills and requirements
You hold a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Biotechnology, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field. Besides this, you have:
- 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with at least 5 years in sterile drug product manufacturing (filling, freeze-drying, packaging).
- Proven leadership experience in managing teams and complex manufacturing operations.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP requirements and regulatory standards for drug product manufacturing.
- Experience with lyophilization, aseptic processes, and technology transfers is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A professional level of Danish is required.
