Do you want to be part of our Shopper Technology team at the LEGO Group?
We are looking for an Engineering Director with a highly technical background to lead teams focused on the modernisation of our retail order management platform.

You will also be responsible for supporting the technical and personal development of our Lead Engineers based in Copenhagen.

Please note that this position does not offer relocation assistance.

Core Responsibilities
You’ll spend your time leading our teams focused on modernising the platform at the core of our shopper technology platform serving LEGO.com and our retail stores around the world. You will:

  • Be responsible for the technical migration of our SAP-based retail order management platform to a modern event-driven architecture
  • Actively lead engineering strategy for a critical area of Shopper Technology focused on both current requirements and long-term direction
  • Proactively sponsor and mentor our most senior engineers across an area.

Working closely with Product Leaders and Lead Engineers and supported by our Principal Engineers, our Engineering Directors play a key role in the team providing guidance and supporting the team to make critical technical decisions as well as taking accountability for engineering delivery.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Significant experience of leading teams responsible for operating business critical, high availability platforms
  • A track record of planning and migrating capabilities from business critical applications to modern event-driven architectures without impacting business availability
  • Significant experience working with retail order management systems and processes
  • People leadership experience including managing performance and development of impactful software engineers at senior levels
  • Experience working with and supporting other members of engineering leadership teams including Engineering Managers and Lead Engineers
  • Experience working with technical and commercial partners outside of your own team including third party and offshore vendors
  • Have a deep understanding and are a passionate advocate for modern software engineering best practices.
  • Lead by example to create a safe and inclusive team culture
