Senior Conceptual Cost Manager

Would you like the opportunity to work closely with high-performing and friendly team of Operations Project Management experts in Xiamen?
We are a function with the aim to optimize the value of our new products by increasing the focus on value and cost during our New Product Development (NPD). As Senior Product Cost Manager, you will be responsible for taking Design for Value and Cost into our products from early concept phase to mass production.

The team you will be part of
You will be part of our Operations Project Management team in Global Operations developing or facilitating key cross functional projects, part of strategic initiatives (“must-win battles”), with value or savings impact from Operations and Sourcing point of view.

You will get your hand on the following exciting tasks:

• Ensuring cost reporting represents the agreed working assumption (CBOM, FCS, Volumes, Split, Logistic setup, Supply chain, features, functions, ID&CMF, location etc).
• Challenge solutions/implementations and inspire project members in exploring options and alternatives to ensure best solutions has been considered.
• Successfully manage your stakeholders in understanding the relation between product features/specifications/performance and cost. Ensure commitment to achieve best product cost.
• Investigate cost-effective designs and motivate others to pursue them. Explore manufacturability by mapping value/cost opportunities and their impact on the product design.
• Ensuring that functions in Global Operations are informed and activated to support material readiness for builds and ramp-up.
• Support in Tier1 supplier RFI& RFP process and prepare Tier1 supplier RFQ package, review the response and conduct LOP quotes analysis.
• Mapping risk related to cost and operations and work with mitigation.
• A good ambassador for Global Operations, go to person for team members and stakeholders.
• Coach and mentor for others in Operations Project Management team.

A strong individual, we imagine the following sounds like you:

• Bachelor’s degree with engineering background in mechanics, electronics, manufacturing or similar are preferred. 10 years’ experience in consumer electronics with at least 3 years in a similar role (Cost Management / Value Engineering).
• High degree of technical understanding with a favor of commercial and Business understanding.
• Ability to lead without formal authority and coop with a high degree of uncertainty.
• Product creation experience as product/project management or designing, manufacturing, or sourcing of electronic devices/components. Experience in Audio/Video products/components is an advantage.
• Curious and genuine interest in understanding how things work, ability and motivation to understand and identify cost drivers for a component, a solution or product.
• Data driven and fact-based decision making.
• Familiar with Design for X and competitor analysis.
• Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
• Team Player and Catalyst in growing the team and function.
• Speak and write English effortlessly.
