JOB DESCRIPTION
Do you want to be part of one of the world’s leading trading platforms and help build a cutting-edge iOS application? Public is looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to join their team in Copenhagen. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing a top-rated iOS app used by millions of users. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design and Backend teams to create innovative user experiences that drive engagement and growth.

At Public, engineering excellence goes beyond just shipping features — it’s about delivering a stable, high-performing platform that users can rely on. The company continuously improves its platform, shipping updates daily and launching at least one major product every month. But speed means little without reliability. Over the past 12 months, Public has recorded just 30 minutes of cumulative downtime, a stark contrast to the top five incumbent brokerages, which experience an average of two incidents every trading day.

As a Senior iOS Engineer, you will play a key role in upholding these high standards, ensuring that every new feature not only enhances the user experience but also meets the company's rigorous stability and performance benchmarks. You will take ownership of critical projects, mentor other engineers, and help refine development processes to maintain Public’s industry-leading reliability.

Your primary tasks and areas of responsibility:

• Build and enhance high-performance iOS applications for optimal user experience.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to create impactful features and enhance user experience.
• Maintain and improve code quality through best practices, including code reviews and automated testing.
• Work with reactive programming paradigms (RxSwift and/or Combine).
• Ensure seamless integration with RESTful APIs.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate is expected to have a BA or MA level in Computer Science, Software Engineering or another relevant field, but experience and demonstrated competence from a similar role is most important.

Furthermore, Public envisions the candidate to have experience with the following:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience building production iOS apps.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong proficiency in Swift and knowledge of SwiftUI.
• Experience with reactive programming (RxSwift and/or Combine).
• Attention to detail and an appreciation for crafting delightful user experiences.
• Proficiency in using RESTful APIs.
• Strong source code management skills (Git).
• Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
• Experience in financial Services and international companies is a plus, but not a must.
