Java software engineer (senior) with DevOps skills

This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw, and you will join our Application Security & I*Net Basement Team. The Application Security is in charge of designing and implementing security solutions to enable authentication and authorization between applications across BEC ecosystem.

The Senior Software Engineer offers challenging, multi-technology experience in one of the most mission-critical area in BEC business. At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to 8 days per month. Your direct manager will be Miroslaw Czajka.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

• Design, development and maintenance of application security solutions in Java (JDK 21)
• Deploy and maintain our software solutions on OpenShift Platform
• Prepare documentation and support the organization in implementation of the solutions
• Work with security tools (e.g. certificate management)

To succeed you will have:

• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Skills in DevOps (e.g. Jenkins, Bitbucket, OpenShift)
• Security: Certificate lifecycle management (e.g. Venafi)
• Basic knowledge in network setup (e.g. defining firewall rules, configuration of load balancing)
• Excellent communication and collaboration (taking part in team daily standups and other BEC-internal meetings, creating documentation for software and processes maintained in the Team etc.)

It’s nice-to-have:

• Financial sector experience
• Exposure to compliance in area of security (e.g. UE directives: eIDAS, PSD2, NIS 2, European Payments Counsil guidelines)
• Experience with legacy systems integration (e.g. mainframe).
