As we continue our journey to becoming the best and smartest everyday bank in the Nordics, we are looking for a Tax/VAT Manager to take ownership of all corporate Tax and VAT matters, ensuring compliance and strategic financial decision-making.

As our new Tax/VAT controller, you will be located in Copenhagen and be part of our Accounting & Controlling team, reporting to Head of Accounting & Controlling. The team currently comprises talented individuals working in Copenhagen and Aarhus who are focused on ensuring compliance and financial clarity within the broader Finance function.

What will you do?

• Take ownership of all corporate Tax and VAT matters, serving as the main point of contact.
• Assess and qualify tax and VAT issues, in collaborating with external advisors when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with Danish tax authorities and navigate regulations across the Nordic markets (SE, DK, NO).
• Gather and analyze information from our accounting systems, proactively managing tax-related processes.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders in Finance, Legal, and Accounting to drive smarter decision-making around tax and VAT.
• Preparing yearly tax returns for all group entities
• Assisting the accounting team with periodical VAT returns
• Prepare the annual transfer pricing documentation

• 5 years of experience in a similar role with knowledge of corporate tax and VAT regulations and compliance, preferably in Denmark and the Nordics.
• Knowledge of accounting and annual reporting and being able to collect information from the accounting systems.
• Fluent in Danish and English (essential for working with Danish authorities).
• A proactive and curious mindset – you know where to look for information and aren’t afraid to reach out to the right stakeholders.
• The ability to see the bigger picture – beyond just solving individual tax issues, you understand the broader financial structure and how to find solutions for a scalable future.
• Educational background can vary but might be cand.merc.aud, cand.jur, cand.merc.jur or similar
• A collaborative approach with the ability to provide holistic solutions – you’ll work with multiple teams internally and externally, understanding the broader financial structure of a company beyond just solving individual tax issues.
