Experienced Hardware Design Architect at Migatronic
Do you have solid experience in hardware architecture and thrive on responsibility? Do you want to lead the development of electronics for the welding machines of the future?
At Migatronic, we are developing the next generation of advanced welding technology and introducing a new ARM-based microprocessor-controlled hardware platform. We are looking for an experienced Hardware Design Architect who can work independently and take full responsibility for developing small-signal and microcontroller-based electronic solutions. You will be the sole specialist in this area and a key player in our R&D department, where we have ambitious growth plans.
About the Job - Responsibilities and Tasks
With a high degree of technical autonomy, you will have overall responsibility for HW architecture, design, and development of small-signal and microcontroller electronics for modern, state-of-the-art welding machines. Your main task will be to ensure high-quality, reusable, and cost-effective solutions that comply with international approval standards.
Your primary tasks include:
- Defining the overall HW architecture and strategy
- Analyzing product specifications and establishing HW requirements
- Designing and developing optimized small-signal and microcontroller-based circuits
- Planning, executing, and documenting test activities, including laboratory and field testing
- Understanding and participating in type approval and standardization tests
- Manufacturing and production test specifications
Your Profile
You have a strong background as an engineer (B.Eng./M.Sc.) in small-signal electronics or a similar field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware development. You are used to working independently and thrive in a role that involves both development and implementation.
We prefer candidates with experience in:
- Hardware architecture and system design
- Analog measurement and control
- ARM-based microcontrollers
- EMC-compliant design
- Wireless communication (Wi-Fi, BT, RFID)
- DC/DC converters
- Schematic design, simulation, and PCB layout
- Design optimized for software development
- Production optimization and supplier collaboration
You work in a structured and analytical manner, taking a thorough approach to problem-solving. You can take responsibility and drive tasks from concept to finished product. Additionally, you communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken.
