As our new Research Scientist you will be instrumental in establishing our new Copenhagen-based cell lab, developing assays, and screening for groundbreaking discoveries that will transform the beauty industry.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and validate cell-based assays to study host-microbiome interactions, particularly focusing on immunological mechanisms.
- Establish and maintain our new cell lab, ensuring optimal functionality and adherence to best practices.
- Plan and execute in vitro experiments to screen for microbiome-derived compounds or formulations with cosmetic applications.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and present findings to the broader research team and management.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance our understanding of the skin microbiome.

Qualifications:
- MS.c or Ph.D. in Immunology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, or a related field with a strong focus on host-microbiome interactions and 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with cell culture techniques, co-culture models and immunological assays such as ELISA, flow cytometry, cytokine profiling, and cell signaling analysis.
Ideally, you also have:
- Experience with microbiome analysis techniques, including DNA extraction, PCR, and sequencing.
- Experience with developing and validating new assays.
- Experience with setting up and maintaining a cell culture laboratory.
- Experience with primary cell isolation is seen as an advantage.
