As we are growing, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Downstream Process Development Senior Scientist.
Boost the Team
The Process Development department in Hørsholm focuses on developing and optimizing vaccine production processes, method development, and supporting production sites. With 25 employees across three teams – Upstream, Downstream, and Product Characterization/Wave Bag Development – we handle a wide range of tasks and often shift priorities.
You will join the Downstream Development team, which includes a Senior Manager, 2 Scientists, and 4 Technicians. The team works on developing and optimizing new downstream purification processes, as well as improving existing ones, ensuring scalability, high vaccine yield, and impurity removal to meet regulatory standards. Collaboration with the Upstream team and the Characterization/Wave Bag Development team is key to our work.

Your Impact
Your tasks will include:
- Solve complex scientific challenges and technical issues related to Downstream Process Development
- Optimize and scale-up processes to ensure efficient and robust manufacturing that adheres to quality and regulatory standards
- Support manufacturing departments with established processes and Technology Transfer during the implementation of new processes
- Design experimental studies, write study protocols, analyze data, and maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation
- Engage in daily communication with lab technicians on experimental studies and establish close collaboration with internal partners such as Production, Quality Control, and R&D
Are You Our Next Pioneer?
To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
- M.S. in Biotechnology, Human Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related field, preferably with a PhD (not a prerequisite)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience from the biotech industry or academia and working with protein or virus purification (statistical data analysis is preferred)
- Hands-on experience with downstream purification methods (Tangential Flow Filtration, chromatography, and other separation techniques) is an advantage
- Proficient in English. Danish is a plus
