Software Specialist - Power Protections

About the job
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing protection functions and their integration into our DEIF Embedded Platform (DEP). You will work closely with our application, hardware and firmware specialists, to ensure that our protection solutions meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop protection functions and integrate them into our products.
• Ensure seamless integration of new protection functions with existing systems to enhance overall platform functionality
• Develop missing features such as event and disturbance recording and associated functions like data analysis and handling (COMTRADE, Waveform analyzer).
• Design the Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for protection functions in the PLC platform.
• Find solutions for fast response times for protection functions matrix in ladder logic in the PLC platform.
• Specify firmware requirements according to IEC 60255 to ensure measuring accuracy and speed.
• Implement missing communication protocols needed for protection devices (like IEC 60870-5 and DNP3).
• Implement IEC 61850 standard, including its communication protocols, data models, and configuration language (SCL)
• Collaborate with other specialists to specify requirements and develop solutions to meet protection software requirements while maintaining PLC control performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of R&D experience in similar product developments.
• Strong knowledge of protection devices and their software implementation.
• Experience with IEC 60255, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5, and DNP3 standards.
• Innovative mindset with the ability to work on innovative solutions for protection devices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
