Your Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all technical aspects related to phase 4 of the Functional Safety (FS) lifecycle in automation projects..
• Work with the customer and provide support from initial HAZOP, LOPA, SRS (Phase 1-3) to commissioning of the safety system (phase 5).
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and standards through close collaboration with clients.
• Quality-assure project deliveries, including hardware and software solutions, based on IEC-61508/61511.
• Develop and review safety PLC applications, primarily in a quality assurance role but also hands-on when needed.
• Plan and support testing activities (FAT/SAT).
• Coordinate and delegate tasks while providing technical support to colleagues in the project team.
• Continuously report project status to the overall project manager.

Your Background

• A higher technical education such as engineer or marine engineer.
• Experience in a similar role, with technical leadership responsibilities.
• Solid expertise in process-related Functional Safety, including an FS Engineer certification.
• Experience with PLC programming (ABB 800xA experience is an advantage but not required).
• Motivation to mentor and support less experienced colleagues.
• Systematic approach to working with safety documentation and processes.
• Strong English skills, as the team operates in an international environment.

More About Us
You will be part of ABB’s Pharma Engineering team, consisting of approximately 20 engineers in Denmark and an extended global network of 20-40 colleagues. As Senior Lead Engineer, you will guide a team of 4-6 engineers, both in Denmark and abroad. Beyond being a technical leader, you will contribute to fostering a supportive and collaborative work culture.

Whether you are based in Ballerup, Kalundborg, or Middelfart, you should expect to be on-site with clients at least once a week, with full on-site presence required during testing phases. ABB offers hybrid work arrangements with great flexibility.
